What is the difference between a coin changer and a coin acceptor?
A coin acceptor validates and collects coins only. A coin changer, often called a coin mech, also stores coins in tubes and dispenses change. Most modern vending machines use a coin changer.
Why does my coin changer show "exact change only"?
This typically indicates that one or more coin tubes are below their minimum level, or that the tube sensors cannot read the coin level accurately. Refill the tubes first. If the status persists, the sensors likely need cleaning or repair.
Is it worth repairing an older coin changer?
In most cases, yes. A professional repair typically costs a fraction of a new changer. If a repair is not cost-effective for your unit, we will let you know before any work begins.
